Expandable Mind Software is committed to protecting you and your student’s online privacy. This document provides information about how we protect you and your student’s privacy when using our teacher and student online websites and educational products.

Expandable Mind Software does not require you to share any personal information in order to visit our web sites. We do not collect any personal information from you unless it is provided voluntarily. We will not disclose any of your personal information to third parties.

Expandable Mind Software is very sensitive to protecting your student’s privacy. We will never contact a student directly and we do not allow students to enter any personal information in any of our products. To the extent that we require student information in order to be able to use our products, all such information will be collected solely from teachers and/or parents.

Expandable Mind Software is especially committed to the privacy of students who are under 13 years of age. To help us in this commitment the government has provided a special Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (or "COPPA") law. Expandable Mind Software complies fully with this law. The information we gather about students is solely used in the use of our program and is never provided to third parties. You may access and view this information at any time using your teacher account in the eMind Dashboard. Using your eMind teacher account you may modify or delete your student’s information at any time. If you have any questions about changing your schools or students information, please email us at:

You may also request to have any and all Expandable Mind Software information about you or your students deleted at any time by contacting us at:

privacy@emindweb.com (We will need to gather proof-of-identity information to perform this function.)

An additional area of concern for student’s privacy is access to inappropriate information on the Internet. To ensure student’s protection the government has again provided a specific law called the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) to address concerns about access to offensive content over the Internet on school computers. Expandable Mind Software fully complies with the CIPA law. Expandable Mind Software does not display any advertisements on our website, or in any of our products. Expandable Mind Software does not provide electronic mail, chat rooms, and other forms of direct electronic communications to students. These features protect both you and your students by not allowing external contact or links to outside websites that could gather information or provide inappropriate material outside of the intent of our privacy policy. To protect your schools online data, Expandable Mind Software implements a number of security safeguards. Our servers are located in a hardened facility with severely restricted access. Our servers are protected by various levels of hardware and software security measures to include firewalls, virus protected, and intrusion detection. We use a monitored security service to continually provide protection against the latest security threats. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to safely transfer sensitive information, and we further encrypt sensitive information such as passwords.

We communicate with teachers and administrators on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the teacher’s wishes.

Only Expandable Mind Software employees who need access to information in the functioning of our products, such as customer support, have access to students personally identifiable information, and only Expandable Mind Software employees are allowed to access or alter any information stored on the eMind servers.

You can help maintain the privacy and security of your Expandable Mind Software information by keeping your sign-in information secure and by choosing non-obvious passwords. You should also not share this information with others.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.
